Xcel Wetsuits was founded by Ed D’Ascoli, and he knows wetsuits. After all, he was recently honored by Honolulu for his many contributions to Hawaii’s surfing community. His contributions include Xcel Pro, a 4-star event first conceived and organized by Ed to pit local up-and-coming surfers against more experienced professionals in a world class venue, like Hawaii.

Xcel’s passion is product development that defines the characteristic of their brand of wetsuits. They have exclusive product development for top construction of men and women’s surfing wetsuits.

He moved Xcel from Sunset Beach to Haleiwa, opened a warehouse in California to facilitate the recreational diving market and used the vast product knowledge to raise the bar for surf and military wetsuits. Today, they dominate the diving wetsuit and surfing market.

Xcel has over 25 years of expertise put into every men and women’s fullsuit or springsuit. The Xcel springsuits are short sleeved with a contoured fit that feature a back zipper and soft Smoothskin Velcro wrap collar. The long-sleeved fullsuit has contoured fit with a back zipper and flap.

Quadrupled glued and blindstitched seams with reinforced stress points make these a suit that can take a beating in the surf or protect you in a deep diving expedition. They have several exclusive wetsuit construction methods for added strength and resistance to snags.

Xcel has their Xcelerator brand, along with 2mm Racerback model, Superlite 2mm Springsuits, or 3/2mm fullsuits and Infiniti 3/2 or 4/3 fullsuits or the hooded 5/4/3 fullsuit. The X-flex is a lightweight flexible wetsuit made from 300% PLUS stretch neoprene, in 2mm. There is a model to fit the demands of every surfer for all water temperatures.

Xcel incorporates their X-Zip 2 system, sealed stretch seam technology in their exclusive FUSION seams and 100% snag resistant, 300% PLUS stretch Ultraspan Superlite neoprene. Xcel Wetsuits are “engineered fit with less seams”.
