Surfboard Noseguards
Surfboard Noseguards are diamond shpaped soft silicon rubber bumpers placed on the tip of a surfboard. These usually come with a quick dry adhesive, just pull off the tape and stick it on. Noseguards first came out in 1986 for shortboards by SurfCo products. "Noseguards" became the generic description.
The main purpose of it is to protect the surfer from injury...by not getting speared by the surfboard tip. It also helps protect the tip of the board. Longboard versions appeared in 1990 and are ellipticle in shape. There are also tailguards available but these are less commonly used.
