McTavish Surftech Funboard

by Ben
(Santa Monica)

I started surfing about three years ago. I think I bought a pretty expensive board for my first. My first board was a McTavish Surftech. It is a pretty nice board, I paid a decent buck for it. It was around $700 if I remember correctly, got it out while in Santa Monica. Since I had first started I didn't ride the big waves or anything like that.

After I got comfortable, I realized the weight of this board just right for a funboard. It's pretty fast which I like, but the leash has snapped on me quite a bit. It's about 7 and a half feet long and 3 inches thick so it's pretty durable also. The nose is about 12 inches and its 21 inches across at its widest point. I love this board a lot, I don’t think I'm gonna be longboarding anytime soon.

I think if you're in the market for a high quality epoxy board, a McTavish Surftech is the way to go.
