Getting Old

I grew up surfing Cocoa Beach; 2nd Light, O'Club, Porpise Pit, etc. Here I am years later, south of Wash DC. doing the grind.

I have a longboard, shorboard & a funshape. I ride the longboard most of the time, but I have trouble getting down the face of anything steep these days. So, I looked around- I liked the Bruce Jones Hybrid shapes best, but didn't really want to sink that much dough into a board.

I kept looking around & happened on the Ron-Jon site. They sell an 8'0 hybrid that is surprisingly close to the dimensions of the Bruce Jones.Yes, I know it's a non-human shaped, glassed board, but it was $350.00 without shipping, I drove up to the NJ shop & picked it up.

I like it a lot & it does exactly what I want it to do on steep days.
So, it works for me.
