Epoxy Surfboards

Epoxy surfboards have many advantages over regular(polyester) boards. They are stronger, lighter and have more buoyancy. In addition, they last longer and are more environmentally friendly in terms of their construction.

While there were some complaints about the lack of flex in the earliest models, most modern epoxy boards are incorporating design elements to add flex.

Epoxy surfboards use epoxy resin instead of polyester resin during the lamination process. Most use styrofoam instead of polyrethane foam.

One thing to remember about about epoxy surfboards is that you can't use most standard ding repair resins. Make sure you get one that says "epoxy" repair so that you actually fix your surfboard instead of making it worse.
