Best Noserider was 7'10''

La Vuelta, Los Organos, N. Peru

I started surfing in 1964, longboards, noseriding. Then in the 70s went to short boards.

In 1982 I moved to Hawaii and surfed boards from 5'9" to 6'6".

In 1992, I moved to Ecuador, SA, went to a 7'10" balsa by Gringo Andres. I was 45 and needed more bouyancy in a board but didn't want a long board. Was I surprised. With a kicked nose and a shape like a long board, this was the best nose rider I ever surfed in my life. But it was also fast enough, having fairly thin rails and good planing spot on the bottom at the trim point.

I haven't surfed much in 10 years (not near the ocean) but now am living in a great surf area in N. Peru and am looking for another 7'10".

I hope I can find one just like my old balsa or probably get one made to order.
